Overview
Recurrent urogenital infections, polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis are among the most frequent reasons for consultation, and too often the most poorly supported once the acute treatment is in place. This training offers you an integrative reading of these women's health disorders, based on pathophysiology and micronutrition, to understand the deep causes rather than only treating the symptom. You leave with concrete tools and simple protocols to set up with your patients.
What you will learn
- Make a rapid differential diagnosis between vaginal thrush, bacterial vaginosis and cystitis, from a few key questions (itching, appearance and smell of discharge, urinary discomfort, frequency of episodes)
- Understand and rebalance the interdependence of the three microbiotas, intestinal, vaginal and bladder, which explains the recurrent nature of these infections
- Build management complementary to the allopathic treatment with oral and local probiotics, D-mannose, 2'-fucosyllactose, phytotherapy and anti-infective aromatherapy
- Decode the pathophysiology of PCOS (hyperandrogenism, hyperinsulinism, LH-to-FSH ratio, methylation and epigenetics) to offer avenues such as myo-inositol, berberine and support of the insulin-glucose metabolism
- Approach endometriosis as a chronic inflammatory and oestrogen-dependent disease, acting on inflammation, oxidative stress, hyperoestrogenaemia, epigenetics and endocrine disruptors
- Identify and correct the terrain factors, hormonal climate, smoking, chronic stress, intimate hygiene, constipation, that sustain recurrences
On the programme
- The vaginal and bladder microbiota: Döderlein flora, lactobacilli of interest and false friends, Nugent score, pH and dysbiosis factors
- Recurrent vaginal thrush (candidiasis): the dual vaginal and intestinal focus, urinary markers, antifungal treatment, support of hepatic detoxification and anti-candida dietary management
- Bacterial vaginosis: the place of antibiotic treatment and probiotics to limit recurrences
- Recurrent cystitis: Escherichia coli, biofilm, D-mannose, type-A proanthocyanidins from cranberry, diuretic plants and dietary-hygiene rules
- The special case of perimenopause and menopause: vaginal dryness, oestrogenic climate and long-term probiotics
- Polycystic ovary syndrome: diagnostic criteria, biological assessment, metabolic terrain and micronutritional protocols
- Endometriosis: pathophysiological avenues, pain management and terrain management
- An introduction to premenstrual syndrome, to be developed in Part 2
- Clinical cases to put into practice
Who it is for
This multidisciplinary training is for healthcare professionals concerned with supporting women's health disorders, doctors, pharmacists and practitioners oriented towards micronutrition and functional medicine, whether they prescribe or advise over the counter.
At the end of the training
You will be able to recognise and differentiate the main urogenital infections, then build global management that goes beyond the simple acute treatment by rebalancing the three microbiotas and correcting the terrain. You will have concrete protocols, micronutritional, phytotherapeutic and dietary, to adapt to each patient presenting with PCOS, endometriosis or recurrent infections. You will be comfortable combining your support with conventional treatments and limiting recurrences.
